Arsenal (2004 - 2012)

Attitude aside, his talent outshined many on the field. In 2004, Van Persie signed a four-year deal with Arsenal for £2.75 million. Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger began to groom and convert Van Persie from a left-winger to a center-forward, just as he did with star player, Thierry Henry.

Van Persie had his highs and lows during his time with Arsenal, and spent most of the 2004/05 season on the bench. Nonetheless, the experience he received from playing alongside other talented footballers was apparent. His performance never failed to surprise the audience, which as a result, granted him several awards.

In the 2011/12 season, which is his final season with Arsenal, Van Persie was promoted to team captain. His improvement throughout the years was astounding, and was believed to be at the peak of his career. That season, he finished as the top goal-scorer in the Premier League with 30 goals, and became Arsenal's 8th all-time top scorer with 132 goals.

On 4 July 2012, Van Persie announced that he would not be signing a new contract with Arsenal.
