The Robin Van Persie Story

After 18 years in professional football, Robin Van Persie has ended his career at 35-years-old with Feyenoord, the club where he debuted his career in 2001. Along his journey, he has stamped his mark in the world of football with Arsenal, Manchester United and Netherlands, and was regarded as one of the best strikers of his generation.

Following his retirement, Van Persie will be joining BT Sports as a pundit and will appear on the network's coverage of live Premier League, Emirates FA Cup, UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League matches.

To get in touch with a wide range of sports enthusiasts globally, Van Persie has signed an agreement to becoming the brand ambassador for BK8, one of Asia's biggest betting platforms.

Robin Van Persie was born on 6 August 1983 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. He comes from an artistic family with a mother who is a jewellery designer and a painter, and a father who is a sculptor.

As a young boy, Van Persie was one of the most misbehaved children in school and was often excluded from class. His lack of interest in academics was greatly compensated with his passion and raw talent in football.

Van Persie married Morrocan beauty, Bouchra Elbali in his early 20s. The couple have two children, a son, Shaqueel born in 2006 and a daughter, Dina born in 2009. The family is currently residing in Manchester, England.

Van Persie started receiving professional football training when he was five and made his senior debut at the age of 17 in 2001. He continued playing professional football for 18 years before hanging up his boots in 2019 at the age of 35. Throughout his professional football career, he has played for prominent football clubs in major leagues and in international football tournaments representing the Netherlands national team.
